Introducing Tucson Sports Medicine Acupuncture: Personalized Care for Pain, Injuries and Recovery

Bluemoon Acupuncture Pain & Wellness Center is excited to introduce our new specialized division, Tucson Sports Medicine Acupuncture. This service was created to provide focused, personalized care for athletes, active adults and anyone experiencing pain or difficulty recovering from an injury. Our goal is simple: to help people throughout Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana and the surrounding communities move more comfortably, recover effectively and return to the activities they enjoy.

Sports Medicine Acupuncture Is Not Only for Athletes

You do not need to be a professional athlete to benefit from sports medicine acupuncture. This approach may be appropriate for people experiencing:
  • Sports and exercise-related injuries
  • Back or neck pain
  • Shoulder or knee pain
  • Muscle and joint discomfort
  • Tendon or overuse injuries
  • Limited mobility or flexibility
  • Slow recovery following an injury
  • Recurring discomfort during work or daily activities

Whether you are a runner, golfer, student athlete, fitness enthusiast or simply want to remain active, your treatment plan will be designed around your condition, lifestyle and recovery goals.

A Personalized Approach to Pain and Injury Recovery

Sports medicine acupuncture combines traditional acupuncture principles with a modern understanding of muscles, joints, posture and movement. Rather than treating every patient the same way, we begin by evaluating the location of the discomfort, how the body moves and which activities may be contributing to the problem. This information helps us create a focused treatment plan for each patient. Depending on your needs, your treatment may include:
  • Sports medicine acupuncture
  • Electroacupuncture
  • Cupping therapy
  • Infrared light therapy
  • Manual therapy
  • Trigger-point acupuncture
  • Postural assessment
  • Therapeutic stretching
  • Corrective movement exercises

These services may help support circulation, reduce muscle tension, improve mobility and assist the body’s natural recovery process.

Care Led by Dr. Mojgan Rezaei

Tucson Sports Medicine Acupuncture is managed by Dr. Mojgan Rezaei, DACM, L.Ac., C.SMA, a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Dr. Rezaei completed advanced training at Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego and has more than 250 hours of specialized hands-on training in Sports Medicine Acupuncture. She has extensive experience helping patients with chronic pain, injuries, muscle discomfort and joint conditions. Her approach is precise, personalized and focused on identifying the factors that may be contributing to each patient’s discomfort.

Why We Created This New Division

Many patients require more than a general approach to acupuncture. Sports injuries, chronic pain and movement-related conditions often involve several connected areas of the body. For example, knee discomfort may be affected by the hips, feet or posture. Shoulder pain may involve the neck, upper back or surrounding muscles. By evaluating these relationships, we can develop a more comprehensive recovery plan. Tucson Sports Medicine Acupuncture was created to give our community access to this specialized care in a comfortable, boutique-style setting.
